The Illawarra is inviting skilled migrants
to apply for sponsorship to live and work
in the region under the Skilled –
Independent Regional (Provisional) Visa
scheme. The SIR visa allows you to live
and work in regional Australia with the
option to apply for permanent residence
after a period of time.
Regional employers are also welcome to
seek our assistance in sponsoring skilled
migrants for skilled positions which cannot
be filled using the local labour market.
Positions can be permanent or temporary.
The Illawarra Regional Development Board
is able to provide this sponsorship assistance
by authority of their role of gazetted
Regional Certifying Body (RCB), appointed
by the Minister for Immigration for the
purposes of the Migration Act. To get
