The Illawarra is home to Port Kembla Harbour. The deep water harbour has excellent transportinfrastructure served by road and rail. In addition to this Port Kembla Harbour was named the inaugural"AUSTRALIAN PORT of the YEAR" in 2000 at the Lloyd's List Daily Commercial News AustralianShipping & Transport Awards function in Melbourne.
The Illawarra has all the infrastructure to support business that you would expect to find in a capital city, but with a generally lower cost structure.
